our story

EMBASSY CHURCH was born from our desire to create a ripple effect of THE LOVE OF JESUS, transforming lives one kind gesture at a time."
Ps Evan Peet
Our Story
Once upon a time Ps. Evan Peet (Embassy’s founding pastor) was walking down Beamish Street in Campsie, Sydney enjoying the chaos that you will only know if you walk down Beamish Street in Campsie. As he was enjoying the smell of duck, toe jams and pollution he was asking God what He wanted to do with his life and the lives of those around him. He felt the response, “Lots of people around here don’t know me.”. That statement felt less like a conversation and more like a call. The response to that call became a church called The Embassy (2 Cor 5:20).
Founded in March 2007 with the purpose of revolutionising the communities of Canterbury Bankstown through the transforming power of the Gospel, not too much has changed. We've moved location a few times, changed the graffiti décor a few times, even changed leadership a few times, but still our vision is simple. We want to be the people of God, building for a move of God in the places and space we walk every day…mostly that’s Canterbury-Bankstown and Sydney’s South West.
If you love these streets, these people and Jesus then our story’s kinda your story too. We look forward to meeting you.
disciples that make disciples
Lives committed to following Jesus and helping others follow him too.
doing good in our hood
Making the hood even better through acts of love and service.
building for a move of god
Walking with other churches in our area believing for more for the area.
our values
We’re a value’s driven organisation and, don’t get us wrong we value Scripture, the Trinity and all the things that most orthodox Christian communities do. The twist is that we embody our love for Christ in ways that are Real, Warm, Urban, Diverse and Holistic.
Altogether it creates a little thing we call, ‘Embassy Styles’. It’s Embassy Styles to be grounded and keep it real. It’s Embassy Styles to want to belong and include others in God’s big, beautiful family of faith. It’s Embassy Styles to change (to be more like Jesus) without changing (the creative genius of God who made you - you for a reason). It’s Embassy styles to be a community of people that don’t have much in common, except Jesus, but because of Him are working hard so our different backgrounds, ages, languages, bank balances and ethnicities bring us together not apart. It’s Embassy Style to have a faith that encompasses your mind, body, emotions, relationship, culture and whole life.
We’re a Pentecostal church that is a part of Australian Christian Churches. You can find out more about the ACC here.
how we show gods love in our community
The Embassy was founded on community service. Our first youth group used to meet, eat, learn about Jesus and then pack food hampers to deliver to local families doing it tough. Since the early days we have proudly participated in youth programs, children’s programs, feeding programs, community marches and so many great initiatives. In late December 2024 we moved location from Belmore to Punchbowl and we’re excited about new ways we can get involved in our suburb. Stay tuned as we share new stories from the new opportunities to bless our hood that we know God is bringing our way!
